Show Commissioner Ralph Miller Will Not Seek Reel ecf ion Veteran Grand County Commissioner, Com-missioner, Ralph J. Miller, Sr., announced this week that he would not seek reelection to the post lie has held for sixteen years. "Although I intend to remain re-main active in Republican Party operation and public affairs, I believe it is time that some younger men with new ideas get involved in the operation of the Grand County Coun-ty Commission," Mr. Miller stated. Mr. Miller now holds, the four-year Commission post. He has served for many years as chairman of the three-man board, although he relinquished relinquish-ed that post two years ago. Combined with service during the 1940"s, Mr. Miller's total time on the County Commission Commis-sion stretches well over twenty twen-ty years. ' v , The Commissioner, whos? service in government and activities in Moab mercantile and ranching operations spans nearly half a century, said he was vitally interested in seeing many of the County's current activities carried t completion. "I believe we are closer than we have ever been to getting a water storage project pro-ject in Mill Creek," he said. He indicated that it was his hope that a new Commission would keep a high priority on this and other items currently cur-rently being sought. Also ending a term on the Commission is Chairman Mars Pope, who stated that it did not appear likely that hf would seek reelection. |
