Show Moab Episcopal Pastor Honored In International Poetry Publication Father Joseph F. Hogben, Litt. D, H.P.L., Vicar of St. Francis Episcopal Church Moab. Utah, has recently been honored by being selected sel-ected for inclusion in "Internationa! "Inter-nationa! Who's Who in Poetry," Po-etry," published in London, England. His name and biography bio-graphy will appear in- the la70-71 edition of this standard stand-ard Reference Volume (This is the Second Edition of this definitive work the First Edition being published in 1&59.) . ' . Dr. Hogben has just received re-ceived the "Certificate of Merit7' attesting this. The hand - printed parchment reads as follows: "International Who's Who In Poetry: The Board of Editors Ed-itors of the International Who's Who in Poetry have this day awarded their Certificate Cer-tificate of Merit to Josepti Forstcr Hogben, Litt. D , H.P.L.. for Distinguished Contributions t o Poetry which ae the subject of notice no-tice in the Second Editio.i, 1970-71. Given under their hand and Seal in London, England, this 23rd day of August, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixty Nine." It is signed by the Senior Editors, and carries the affixed af-fixed seal. The Moab priest-poet has also been recognized with another Honorary Doctorate, Ms timtt. with t.hf Litt. L D. (Doctor of Literary Leadership) Leader-ship) from the International Acrtiemy of Leadership of The Philippines. In addition, addi-tion, he has been selected to receive a 19G9 Gold Medal from The International Poets Shrine in Hollywood, Calif.; elected to The World Poetry Society; notified that his biography, bi-ography, and a selection of his poems will be included in "American Mosaic," a thres vuiume Reference Work on Contemporary Am e r i c a n Poets, edited by Constance A'Jele Henning of Arizona State Universary, Tempe, Anzona. Father "Joe" has had, in this present year, several more of his poems accepted by current poetry Quarterlies Quarter-lies and Anthologies, including; includ-ing; "The Prairie Poet," "United Poets," "The American Am-erican Poet," "American Poetry League Bulletin." "Poet," "From Sea To Sea in Song" (1969), and "Quad-e:rni "Quad-e:rni Di Poesia" (Rome, Italy). He is currently at work on the completion of a booK-length booK-length eerics of Sonnets on "The Christian Year", and his long epic poem on "St. Joan of Arc." |
