Show Hit and Run Accidents -:3X Investigated Hit and run accidents wen: a major part of the complaints com-plaints filed with the Moab City Police Department this past week. The first hit and run occurred oc-curred Oct. 8 at 2:C5 p.m. when Joe Severns reported that someone had run into the side of his car while he was parked at Riley Drug parking lot. There were $90 worth of damages to the Severns vehicle and the .ic-cident .ic-cident is still under inve.j'i-gation. inve.j'i-gation. The second hit and run occurred oc-curred during a football game last Wednesday afternoon after-noon at the Grand Coun y High School parking lot. A car belonging to Mrs. Kath-eryn Kath-eryn Little Hass was struck and about $330 in damages were done. A green and white pickup is being sought in connection with this accident. ac-cident. The final hit and run for the week occurred Oct. ?, when sometime during thtl day, some one ran into the ;eft rear fender of a car belonging be-longing to Dr. Dail Magee, doing about 75 in damages. Two boys were caught Oct. 8, after they had broken 17 light bulbs at the Utah Power Pow-er & Light Co. office. The boys had crawled under the fence to do this damage. They were turned over to their parents on the condition condi-tion that they pay for in? damage. Melvin Dalton investigated an accident that occurred en 5;h West on Oct. 10. The accident ac-cident occurred when a c.ir driven by Donald Boyer of Moab failed to stop for a stop sign after traveling at a high rate of speed down Arroyo Street. The car went over an embankment on 5th West and the boy suffered minor cuts and bruises. He was taken to the hospital by Fern Mullen. Oct. 11 at 6 p.m, a car driven dri-ven by Jean Rivera ran into in-to the rear of a car driven by Ralph Osborne as the Osborne vehicle was waiHrjg to negotiate a left trun. The Rivera vehicle was totaled and about $500 in damages were done to the Osborne car. Jean Rivera was cited for improper lookout. At 3:45 a.m. Oct. 12, Officer Of-ficer Robert Rothwell noticed notic-ed two persons running away aw-ay from the back of Holiday 66 service station. He gave chase and succeeded in capturing cap-turing one of the boys. The boy was charged with fleeing flee-ing from an officer, but vv? charges were later dropped. Officers were called to settle set-tle family disturbances on Oct. 14. The first involved p. fijht between two neighbors neigh-bors and they were advised t3 see Judge Don Crist o settle their differences. The seoend was between a man and his wife and thev were advised to settle their argument in court. The mm relumed to Colorado to begin be-gin proceedings. |
