Show Bud Blank Enters Race For Council One of the men nominated to represent the Moab Citizens Citi-zens Party in the forthcoming forthcom-ing election is Earl F. (Bud; Blank. Mr. Blank is a member of the school board at this time and is ' aware that he would have- to relinquish his position on that board if he is elected to the City Council. Coun-cil. As-his major reason for running for this post, Mr. Blank lists that he feels he would be more effective :n ifce council position in the active stand he intends to fake against drug abuse in Moab. According to Mr. Blank, "since the Governor's report re-port on drug abuse has been published and Moab has the infamous standing of being number one, something has to be done." He favors establishing es-tablishing a program of education ed-ucation for the teenagers and feels that the law should ferret out and arrest anyone who is involved in the sale of narcotics. This would -mean, he says, a need for stronger law enforcement, and closer cooperation between be-tween the city and county, and the board of education. Mr. Blank has lived in Moab for 15 years and moved here because he felt tjiis would be an ideal place to raise a family. He has one son who has graduated from Grand County High School, and another who is a junior this year. He also has two small children in school here.
