Show Winbourns Celebrated 50th at Warner Friends and relatives joined Helen and Dan Winbourn in Klebrating their 50th Wedding Wedd-ing Anniversary Saturday at Warner Lake. Both Mr. and Mrs. Win-toira Win-toira were born and raised in 415 area and have always town each other.. .But one ramer night in 1923 they both had gone to Castleton to JJ 11 night dance with dates. ! Winbourn remembers W date getting mad at her because she laughed at him when he got thrown from his mule, and Mr. Winbourn said, "My date got mad at me because I sang a song to her she didn't like," so Helen and Dan came home together. They dated for three years and then on Helen's birthday, July 1, Dan came to call and Helen told him she was going off to California to school. Mr. Winbourn said, "Somehow I got the nerve up to let her propose and I said yes," and we were married the next day." Both Helen and Dan are descendants of pioneers from this area. Dan's father came from Cortes, Colorado, to dq mining and his mother was raised at Indian Creek. Helen's families, the Ray's and Taylors, were some of the first families to settle here. "My mother came down the river on a raft in 1888," Helen said. Mr. Winbourn served as State Game Warden from 1942-1971 and stated he always enjoyed that outdoor work. Mr. and Mrs. Winbourn had four children born to them, two of whom survive, Mr. Scott Winbourn, Moab, and Mrs. Roy (Nyda) Beeson, Las Vegas, Nevada.
