Show Moab Park Official IV Transfer to Cumberland Gap Tom Hartman, Assistant Superintendent of Canyon-lands Canyon-lands National Park and active member of the Moab Chamber of Commerce spoke to the Chamber about his upcoming transfer to the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. This park is a commemoration of the "move west" and sits in the middle of Daniel Boone country bordering border-ing Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky. Mr. Hartman's home town , in near Cumberland Gap and has family there. He is very happy about the transfer, although he said he will miss the Moab community. Accompanying Accom-panying him will.be his wife Margret, who has been teaching teach-ing Physical Education at the Middle School, and their three children, McKinney, Pat and Ed. Also at the Chamber meeting, meet-ing, Mr. Slim Mabery thanked all the merchants who contributed contrib-uted the prizes for the Water Carnival held last weekend. Mr. Mabery said about 300 people attended the festivities but reported that many came too late and missed a lot of the races. Also he stated that there was some confusion in getting participants for all the races. A special thanks went to Mr. Burce Kehret who was in charge of the fire works on the Moab Rim. The Chamber members were reminded of an anit-shoplifting anit-shoplifting meeting to be held July 8 at the SunDowner Restaurant from 12 noon to 2 p.m. |
