' The Devils started slowly slow-ly and fell behind 9-0 during the first quarter and then started hitting the basket. Top scorer for the night was big Mark Marksberry, 6'7" junior center, who hit for 10 field goals and 10 of 11 from the charity stripe for a 30 point output. Marksberry took advantage advan-tage of the inexperienced visitors and put up shots all night. Second in the scoring parade for the Devils was senior Gene Roberts, hitting hit-ting the net for 16 points. Roberts, starting to get hotter with each game, played a good game for the Devils and helped take some of the pressure pres-sure off of Marksberry. Bo Johnson, junior, split the nets for 8 points and played his usual reliable game. Mike Waltersheid, coming off the bench in a reserve roll, started the Devils on their hot streak and ended up with 6 points and a number of defensive steals. Also playing a great defensive game was Jeff Cathey, junior forward. Cathey held the tough spot of defending the top scorer for Cortez and came through the game with a great effort.
