Show CommitieesNamed for Chamber Work During the Mew Year Committee chairmen were announced this past week by the Moab Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce. Each Committee will be to promote pro-mote and help boost business busi-ness in the area. President Dixie Barker Bark-er called for volunteers to help with any committee commit-tee and any further ideas for projects should be given to Chamber officers. offi-cers. Fifteen different committees com-mittees are set up currently cur-rently with chairmen for each committee. The interest in-terest survey given to each member should be returned to Dixie Barker Bark-er as soon as possible. Correspondence from the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce resulted in a short discussion on the proposed Wilderness Legislation slated for Zi-on Zi-on National Park. The Cedar Chamber is seeking seek-ing support for their stand that, it will hurt tourist traffic in that .area. .ar-ea. The correspondence was referred to Mary Williams for study. Mrs. Williams is head of the local Transportation and Travel committee. All business should be reminded that they should have all entries for the Christmas drawing at the courthouse no later than 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. A number of individual businesses have expressed expres-sed interest in donating items for additional drawings. Continental Trailways bus and 30 passengers were delayed in Moab about 5 hours last Friday Fri-day after 8 of its 10 tires were punctured by nails. Two tires were completely flat, and 6 others leaking, according to personnel at Union 76 station, where the bus awaited a replacement, and a new set of tires. |
