Show .. ! ,' I . ... . : s hi MISS UNITED TEENAGER BARBI KIELIAN Utah miss won national honor Miss Barbi Kielian now I living in Sandy, recently won the title of "Miss United Teenager 1977" over 46 other contestants. The girls were judged on their scholastic and civic achievements, beauty, poise, personality, and originality origin-ality in expressed appreciation apprecia-tion for America. Barbi's essay asked the question "How much freedom are we willing to sacrifice in the name of order?" Miss Kielian will travel to Washington D.C. December 30th to compete in the National Nation-al finals. The winner of which will receive a $15,000 cash scholarship to the school of her choice, a 2 week paid vacation to Europe, a weeks vacation in Hawaii or South )f America, a 1978 Thunderbird t car to use during her reign, I and $5,000 in expenses and clothing. j As "Miss Utah United jj Teenager" Barbi has already ? won a trip to Hawaii and I Washington D.C, also an i Evelyn Wood Reading Dy-J Dy-J namic's Course, a nine months ? course in the John Roberts 5 school of Fashion and Model- ing in New York City ; Barbi Kielean is a great granddaughter of the recently deceased Moabite Maude Reid Moore, a granddaughter of Ruth Reid Scorup and husband hus-band Carl Scorup of Othello Washington, daughter of Eileen Ei-leen Craivley Kielian of Sandy and a great neice to Madge Warde, Beula Caillet, and ' Ralph Miller Sr. of Moab. |
