Show Arrest Report Issued by State Agency The annual arrest report issued is-sued by the Utah Division of Fish and Game for 1967 listed list-ed a total of 2003 cases with net fines of $37,866.50 for an average fine of $18.90. Included in the total arrests were 430 cases involving juveniles juv-eniles who were referred to juvenile courts for action. Golden Peay, chief of law enforcement listed . 79 separate separ-ate types of violations in his report, with over 900 cases falling into six types of violations. viola-tions. Shooting migratory birds after hours accounted for 211 cases and waterfowl hunters shooting birds without proper plugs in their . guns were issued is-sued 89 citations. - Failure to comply with big game tagging laws resulted in 183 persons being issued citations ci-tations by Division of Fish and Game officers. Two violations of the fishing rules were prominent in the arrest report for 1967 as fishing fish-ing without a license and taking tak-ing bverlimits of fish resulted in 269 arrests. Hunters carrying loaded guns in their vehicles is a law often violated and in 1967 officers of-ficers issued 166 citations for this infraction of the fish and game code. An all out effort will again be made this year to get complete com-plete Information to the sporting sport-ing public on the rules governing govern-ing their hunting and fishing seasons through all of the news media in an effort to gain the public's compliance with the various regulations. Proclamations are always available for sportsmen to carry with them in the field and fish and game officers are happy to answer any questions ques-tions regarding the rules governing gov-erning each outdoor season. |
