Show MAN KILLED IN MINEMISHAP A 5000 volt charge electrocuted electrocut-ed a workman at the Kennecott Copper Corp. open pit mine in Bingham Thursday, August 5 and his companion suffered severe shock. Victim of the mishap was Kee Bohle M. Turquoise, 23, an Indian. In-dian. Jesus Lebron Ortiz, Carr Fork, was injured seriously from the shock. The accident occurred when the two men were extracting a pipe used to load explosives in a drill hole and it accidently came in contact with an electric power line. Mr. Ortiz was taken to St. Mark's hospital in Salt Lake City where he was reported in good condition last Friday night. A native of Arizona, Mr. Turquoise Tur-quoise was born January 15, 1925 in Kaibito. He had been employed employ-ed by Kennecott in January 1947 left later that year and reentered their employ November 13, 1947. Surviving are his parents, three brothers and sisters whose names are not known, and a brother, Ab Harris, also employed at the mine. . Mr. Harris accompanied the body of his brother to Tuba City, Ariz., for funeral and burial. |
