Show JORDAN SCHOOLS TO OPEN SEPT. 6 Students in Jordan school district dis-trict will return to school Tuesday, Tues-day, September 6, according to the 1949-50 calendar released Wednesday by Arthur E. Peterson, Peter-son, superintendent. The supervisors and principals will begin their work on August 15 with the opening iastitutes starting on August 29, the report revealed. The first quarter will end on November 4, the second on January Janu-ary 13, the third on March 17 and school will close on May ltf, the report showed. The report also showed the schools will be closed for tha Utah Education Ass'n convention; Thanksgiving on November 24 and 25; Christmas vacation, December De-cember 23 to January 3 and on Washington's birthday, February Febru-ary 22. The schools will observe the following holidays with appropriate appro-priate exercises: Columbus day, October 12; Armistice day, November No-vember 11; Lincoln's birthday, February 12, and Arbor day as announced, Mr. Peterson concluded. conclu-ded. r |
