Show NOT GOOD LAW. The government, it seems, is determined to prevent pre-vent the owners of a coal property from Iranxport- ing their own coal over their own road- AN e do not believe that such a law is const itntional. nd never have, for it strikes at the very foundation of tree government and violates the rule that no man may bti deprived of what is his without due process of law. A railroad vompany may be punixhed for discriminating dis-criminating between patrons of ita road; it may be punished for carrying ita own coal cheaper than it does an outsider's; H may be punished for refusing to carry coal belonging to an outsider, but to forbid for-bid it carrying ita own property cannot be good law. We hope the Lehigh company will fight the uit instituted against it to the highest court, and believe that it will unless it baa in some other re "icct been violating the law. |
