Show DULL MARKET ON V7ALL STREET NEW YORK, May L Prices of stocks agged small fractions on , very small opening dealing. The holiday in the London Lon-don market contributed to the-dullness. Union Pacific receded I and the first sale of U. S. Steel was of So 00 shares at a decline de-cline of . Steel pfd. and Pennsylvania made small fractional gains. Orders for stocks came in at the decline de-cline and the market rallied to above yesterday's yes-terday's closing, except for U. S. 8teel and the Harrlman stocks, which - were sluggish. Selling of Union Pacific atter-ward atter-ward depressed It 1. Sympathetic weakness weak-ness developed in other stocks, notably. Reading, which sagged from 1131 to 112. The rest of the list came back to the opening figures or below and did not respond re-spond when 8melting- was marked up lft. The level of prices rose slightly, but the movement was listless. Bonds were firm at noon. More progress upward waa made after 1 o'clock, the moraine losses being about made up. Smelting and Amalgamated Copper were firm, the latter rising 11. Mackay company rose 21. Anaconda followed the advance in Amalgamated Copper and American Smelling, but after It had been lifted II. the entire market weakened with the Western railroad stocks. Reading falling to the lowest o fthe day. Atchison was depressed a point below yesterday's closing clos-ing by the announcement of the new convertible bond Issue. The market closed heavy and dull.
