Show RABBI FREUND. To the great regret of a multitude of friends. Rabbi Freund gathered together his household goods and left Salt Lake yesterday to go to his new field at Harrisburg, Pa. His going is a loss to Salt Lake; it will be a gain to Harrisburg, for he has been a real shepherd to his flock here and a first class citizen, and he will be the same where he goes. Harrisburg is a beautiful, quaint old city. It gives a westerner the impression that it, being tired, dropped off the trail of progress and is resting. It will make the rabbi feel that he is more than half way back to the city in which David sang and Solomon built his temple, but there are sinners there and the rabbi will have plenty of missionary work to do. It will be for him a change from the city of the Saints to a city where Pennsylvania political sinners the wickedest kind put up jobs and divide spoils. |
