Resolutions favoring Utah stone for the ate capitol will, it it expected, be unaciu.o jsly pasted at a special mem bership meeting of the Commercial club to be held at 7-30 o'clock tonight. Tbe club has thiei? the meeting ia order to give its ititident membership an op portunity to go on record in favor of or against Uiah stone In the event the resolutions are passed, they will be presented to the capitol commission at its next meeting Monday afternoon, when the stone it to be selected. It is expected that . tonight s meet i ng wi 1 1 be largely attended, as the capitol stone question has been much discussed bv the club members, and the sentiment demanding that Utah stone be specified has grown very strong, especially es-pecially since it hat been learned that several Utah stone companies have contolidated for the purpose of being able to supplv all stone required. This organization has informed the eommis sion that it is not working for anv one interest and that it has in mind no particular quarry from which to take the stone, but is prepared to furnish Utah granite, limesipne, sandstone or marble of the finest quality. |
