Show COMMITTEES UNABLE TO HNKHWORK Tariff Bill Consideration Taking Several More Days Than Expected. WASHINGTON, June 7. Two of the senate finance subcommittees working on the tariff bill failed to complete their work today contrary to the program pro-gram mapped out by senate leaders. As one result, Senator Simmons, chairman chair-man of ths finance committee, has been compelled to withhold a call for the full committee meeting. Administration leaders want the finance fi-nance committee to meet Monday to receive the subcommittee reports, but that must now be deferred several days. Senator Johnson 's eubeom nittee is still considering the paper and sun dries schedules and Senator Williams' subcommittee has not settled upon the administrative features or the income tax section of the hill. By working tomorrow these committees may be able to complete their work Tuesday. Senator Williams' committee is considering con-sidering eliminating the antidumping clause of the Underwood bill os Us ground. that it might precipitate retaliatory re-taliatory tariffs by foreign nations. |
