Show ELEVEN IRE BILLS PLACED OH HOUSE CALENDAR , Lower Body Takes Definite Action on Reports of Committees K'.sven bills, including the fish and game bill, came out of house committees commit-tees todsy with favorable reports and took their places on the calendar. They were: Ifouae bills Nos. 20 by Lewis, 110 by Iverson, 111 and 21t by Morrison; Mor-rison; II. J. H. Ne. S by Sander; bouse bills Nos. 150 by A. W. Morrison, 10 and US by Douglas, 170 by Boderberg, 126 by Iverson. One bill was withdrawn by It author. au-thor. Representative Madsen. It pertained per-tained to rights for water and their , reapportionment after seven years. Another bill which had been Introduced Intro-duced by Representative Qulnney regarding re-garding surety companies, depositing a protective fund was reported unfavorably, unfa-vorably, which means Its deatb. An endeavor was made by Representative Repre-sentative Crook of Wasatch county to obtain unanimous consent to Introduce Intro-duce a bill for the benefit of one of his constituents to reimburse hsr tn the sum of $75,000 for alleged damages to her property by the construction of a highway, but objection was made and the measure failed to be Introduced. Two measures which relate to the Grand Army of the Republic, making provision for a burial fund and for the attendance of the representative of the Utah department at the national encampment, en-campment, which had been referred to the committee on military affairs, were reported back with the request that In view of their carrying an appropriation they be referred to the committee on appropriations. Sanders' Joint resolution, which provides pro-vides for the submission of a constl-ttitional constl-ttitional amendment, amending section . article 4, of the state constitution, waa reported favorably and ths resolution resolu-tion took Its place on the calendar. 8. W. Morrison's measure, pertaining to state land patents and their recording, record-ing, waa also favorably reported and I placed on the calendar. McShane's bill, which pertains to farm and home demonstration in the agricultural college, waa on the motion mo-tion of Representative Qulnney left with the committee on university and agricultural college for a period of ten days more for further consideration. Two bills of Douglas, one relating to the taking of depositions and the other relating to the sale of real estate deeded deed-ed to counties, were favorably reported.' re-ported.' Hoderberg's bill, relating to the nomination nomi-nation of candidates for office, waa also favorably reported, as was Iver-son's Iver-son's hit! relating to organisation of mutual assessment companies. Senator Dern's bill, which provides the method of voting for candidates for judicial offices and the office of the superintendent -of -public Instruction, wss killed by the adoption of the unfavorable un-favorable committee report. Similar action waa taken with Representative Lewis' bill, relating to the establish, ment of new schools and the furnishing furnish-ing of transportation for children. BILLS PASSED. . Two bills pertaining to the adoption of textbooks for the public schools were passed after a spirited debste. Representative Winder's measure, authorising county commissioners to Issue certain bonds to run twenty and forty yeara with a proviso that they must be sold at-par, waa passed, as was Senator Knight's bill amthorislng valuation bonds and securities of life Insurance companies. When Representative Hwensen's hill relating to an Insurance rating bureau was reached, an unfavorable report having been made, it was, on motion of the author, sent to the foot of the i CBienuar, Senate bill No. 42, by ftenator Jen-en. Jen-en. which articulates the pharmacy board from the department of reglstra- tion. was passed by a vote of 12 ayes, j with 1 J absent. ! Senate bill No. IS, by Senator Drn, which creates a department of regis-tratlon, regis-tratlon, was read a third time and. pending a roll rail, recess was taken until this afternoon. |
