M Casting aside International problems. the Harding administration. Immediately after March 4, will center Its attention oa purely domestic matters. It caa ba authoritatively stated today. Thla word was brought here from 8t. Augustine by Charles E. Hughea. John W. Week Harry Daugherty. Will Hays and Albert B. Fall, all members of the new cabinet. Opening up of sources of power, particularly water power or hydroelectric hydro-electric power as an aid to industrial expansion and Increased employment. Senators McNsry, Oregon, and Borah, Idaho, have presented to Hartl-Ing Hartl-Ing ox reclamation plan embracing the entire country. He has approved the general idea and Senator Fall, who, as secretary of the Interior, will have charge of such matters. Is In sympathy with It. The essentials of the plan are to reclaim re-claim the arid lands in the West by Irrigstlon, swamp lands of the South by drainage and eutover lands of tha Kast hy removal of stumps. It contemplates con-templates government loans to aid In the work. WATER POWER. As to power development, the plan Is to make use to the fullest possible extent of both navigable and nonnuv-lgable nonnuv-lgable streams. On the navigable streams this Is to bs done through the water power act passed by yie present Republican congress, hut not yet actively ac-tively In operation.
