Show Pupils Have Plenty Time to-Submit-Conlest Essays Competition Will Close on Anniversary Anni-versary of George Washington's Wash-ington's Birthday There is atill ample lime for grade and high school studente to ' consider writing an essay in The Telcgram'a George Washington essay es-say contest. Ths contest will close on the anniversary of Washington's Washing-ton's birthday. If you hsve not already al-ready decided to submit your efforts ef-forts for review by the judges, now Is the time to sit down and think. You may rapture one of the many prises offered. Eighteen rash prises will be awarded In addition to recommendations recommen-dations of honorable mention from the three Judgee selected from the leading educators of the state. The theme of the essays must deal with the life and achievements of (ieorge Washington. Get started, start-ed, boys and girls, and begin tha preparation of a manuscript today. Read over tha following rules and list of prises and start TODAY: TO-DAY: First prize, 25. Second prize. $15. Third prize. $10. Fourth prize. $10. Next five best essays. $& each. In case of a tie for any of tha prizes, the -judges will award the full prize to each contestant. Ksaays must not exceed 800 words In length. Neatness, legibility, punctuation and general appearance of manuscripts manu-scripts will be considered in determining de-termining the winners. All Assays should be addressed to the Kssay Contest Editor of The Telegram. Only one side of paper must be written upon. AM manuscripts must be In The Telegram office not later than midnight of February 22. Students of universities and col-I col-I lege of the state will not be eligible. Winners of the contest will be judged by Adam Bennlon, B. Roland Ro-land Iewia and Ieorge A. Katon. The decisions of tha judges will he final. j |
