Show OPPOSITION SHOWN IN SENATE AGAINST IMMIGRTION BILL WASHINGTON. Feb. 12. Op- position to the Dillingham emergency emer-gency immigration bill developed in the senate today on the ground that ft would admit to thla country coun-try 125.000 Germane a year. The bill would limit the number of immigrants from any country to i per cent of the number of natives of that country already here. This would permit entrance of 128.000 British subjects. 12i.000 Germans. 63.000 from Norway and Hweden. 9000 from Ienmark. 5800 from France, 83.000 from Austria, 67.000 from Italy, $,000 from Russia Rus-sia and smaller numbers from other countries. The total to be admitted would be 692.000 a year. |
