Show United Artists, Goldwyn Battle Looms HOLLYWOOD (UP) Samuel Goldwyn, tha Polish orphan boy who became multimillionaire film producer, touched aft today what may become a large scale battle In tha motion picture Industry. In-dustry. Warner Bros, announced that they had completed negotiations with Goldwyn to distribute his latest picture throughout tha nation's na-tion's theaters. This Indlaatsd Csldwy waa going through with plans to break away from United Artists corporation, corpora-tion, which he helped found In 1926 along with Mary Plckford, Douglas Fairbanks, Charlie Chaplin Chap-lin and others. Goldwln recently announced he waa abrogating his agreement because, he said, he was doing most of United Artists' money making and waa not receiving re-ceiving a proportionate share of the profits. Unltsd Artists threatened to go to court to hold Goldwyn to his contract, which would expire In 1945. United Artists also warned other distributing companies not to maka releasing agreements with Goldwyn unless they were willing to face legal action.
