Show World Smiles Upon Pet, Too Thursday was a day of sorrow for 11-year-old Carl Pieper. but the world looked brighter Friday and he went to school with a smile, albeit his left arm was in a sling. It all began Wednesday afternoon when the boy. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pieper. 1740 Jefferson street, tumbled from the back of his black and white pony, "Rex," and fractured his arm. Taken to the Salt Lake General hospital for treatment. Carl stayed there until late Thursday afternoon. Returning horns ha found "Rex" ill. Carl made a trip to the family medicine closet, returning with his good arm loaded. When the home remedies did "Rex" no ood. a veterinary was called. After administering to the horse the veterinary went home as-. miring Carl that "Rex" would be all right by morning. , And so he was. Friday morning when Carl arose he found "Rex" in the best of spirits and as frisky as a colt. |
