Aldoui r mil- i Organist and Concert Master Selected for Musical Event Appointment of the organist and concert master for Handel's "The Messiah" to be given Sunday at 2 p. m. in the Tabernacle for the twenty-fifth time, and announcement that the last rehearsal will be held Christmas night at 6:30 p. m., featured progress of the :tprogram Thursday. Dr. Howard T. Anderson, president presi-dent of the Salt Lake Oratorio society, so-ciety, which sponsors this annual holiday presentation, aaid Wade Stephen will be the organist and Reginald Bealea, concert master of the 40-piece orchestra. Squire Coop, nationally known musician, who founded the Salt Lake Oratoria society when he was teaching musif at the University of i Utah, came from Loa Angelea to conduct 'The Messiah." This will be the third time Mr. ; Stephens, a tabernacle organist, has been organut for "The Messiah. " while It will be Mr. Beale' firat appearance ap-pearance as concert master. A rehearsal will be held Thursday night in the ballroom of the Hotel Utah instead of at the tabernacle as first announced. The orchestra will rehearse at 7:30 p. m. and the chorus at p. m. Conductor Coop will rehearse the chorus, soloists and orchestra Christmas night |
