Ocky of tha Carbon board of tducatlon an- 1 nounced Thursday th abandoned school building at Heiner had been j old to Byron Carter of Helper for 1200. 1 Mr. Carter'! bid was more than double that of the Ketchum Builders' Build-ers' Supply company of Salt Lake structure for SSM. A J325 bid for the heating system alone was sub-1 mltted by James Fossiot I Mr. Ockey said it is understood Mr. Carter purchased the building 1 for the Helper L. D. S. ward, of which he is bishop. The material 1 will be used in construction of a I new chapel next year. The Heiner school was erected In 1M3 at a cost of S21.000. It was a four-room brick structure. The enrollment this year was only approximately 25, and one of the two teachers was transferred early in the term to the Price Central school. E. L. Miner, who has been principal at Heiner for many years, will get a new assignment In th Carbon district following the Christmas Christ-mas holidays, Mr. Ockey said. |
