V- Tha annual party of tha Jackson school Parant-Taachar association was given Thursday at tha school by tha group's officers and room mothers,. Conferring over plana far activities are, in tha -front row,' Miss Freda Kiser, secretory, Mrs. Rob art W. Haslam, president; Mrs. Vara Bult, vice president, and, in tha back row, Mrs. Viola Alan, treasurer, and J. J. Harris, principal of tha school and second vice president of tha organization. Chapters of P.-T. A. Plan Week Of Activity Throughout City Members of the P.-T. A. throughout the city have been active the last week and a number of meetings are planned for the coming Liberty P.-T. A. will meet Monday Mon-day at 3 p. m. at tha school. A candle can-dle lighting ceremony will be performed, per-formed, under direction of Mrs. A. L. Clawson, chairman of the program pro-gram committee. Joseph Parmley and Sara Carlisle, representing the building committee, are in charge of the program. Dr. J. T. Wahlqulst, professor of education at the University of Utah, will be guest spesker and a music program will be given by the school glee club. Executive officers and room mothers of the Jackson P.-T. A. held their annual party in the school cafeteria Thursday afternoon In honor of the principal and teachers of the school. Special guests were Mrs. A. R. Curtis, president of the city council, and Mrs. Eliot Petersen, Peter-sen, past president of ths Jackson P.-T. A. Mrs. Robert W. Haslam, president, was toastmlstress. Washington's birthday decora tions of red, white and blue were used and spring (lowers centered each table. J. J. Harris, principal of the school, waa ths speaker and music was by the school orchestra and glee club. Officers present were Mrs. Haslam, Has-lam, Mrs. Vera Bult, vice president; Mr. Harris, second vice president; Mrs. Viola Alien, treasurer, and Miss Freda Klser, secretary. Fifty members attended. The Founders' day program of ths Jefferson school P.-T. A. has been postponed until Thursday. The meeting will be held at the Lincoln high school at 3 p. m. Mrs. Earl Poulsen, program chairman. Is In charge of the program. An address will be given by Daa Baker, principal prin-cipal of the school, and a sketch observing Founders' day will be given. The orchestra and Reginald Bealee will present the musle program. |
