DEMOCRATS DENY GHARGEOF MAGING HARRISBURC, Pa, March 25 (INS) Democratic State Chairman Chair-man David L. Lawrence and seven other members of his party pleaded plead-ed Innocent Monday when their trial on charges of "madng" etata employes for political purposes opened In Dauphin county court. The trial la the fourth of a series se-ries growing out of criminal indictments in-dictments stemming from a grand Jury Investigation which followed the bitter 1938 Democratic primary pri-mary campaign. Lawrence was acquitted ac-quitted in an earlier trial en charges based en the so-called Erie gravel scandal of 1937.
