Show 40 Men Ready, Willing, Able To Help Finland in Battle Services of 40 men, "ready, willing and able" to fight In the air or on the ground for Finland were offered Thursday to Brigadier General James Augustus Ryan, U. S. army, retired, who if directing American military iM t The men, of whom 20 are pilots and the others trained mechanics, are mainly from Utah, but Include In-clude several from Idaho, Montana, Mon-tana, Nevada and Wyoming, according ac-cording to C H. Carlquist general gen-eral chairman of the Utah Nordic committee, sponsoring the group. Calling themselves the "Flying U squadron," the group members are prepared to "follow orders of Finland whenever called." Mr. Carlquist said names and data on the volunteers were forwarded for-warded to Brigadier General Ryan at his home at Evanston, I1L A letter was dispatched to Senator William H. King asking him to supply sup-ply the committee with information informa-tion about America's neutrality laws, ao that "we can aid the Finns and still keep within the law." A tentative plan calks for mass exodus of the "Flying U squadron" squad-ron" to Letti bridge, Alberta, Canada, Can-ada, where the Canadian and British Brit-ish governments would take charge of the group.
