I (UP) Don Lash, former distance running star from the Univereity of Indiana and now a Bloomlngton policeman, today to-day held the Jamee E. Sullivan memorial trophy awarded each year to the outstanding amateur athlete. Lash won the 131 award with a comfortable margin la the A. A. V. balloting of a tribunal of too sports leaders He polled 45 points against 371 for Mrs. Katharine Rawie Thompson, swimmer, and lit for Joe Burk, oarsman who won ths diamond sculls event at the royal Henley regatta in England. Last year Lash flniehed second to Don Budge. The trophy Is given the athlete "who, by his performance, perform-ance, example and Influence as an amateur and aa a man, has 'done the meat during the year to advance , ttie cause of sportsmanship."
