Show ECONOMICAL BIRDS Tracy Aviary Reports Costs Total 1 Cent Per Visitor Cost of operating the Tracy only slightly more than a cent aviary durine the past year was per visitor, It was shown Wednes- day In a report on the aviary filed with the Salt Lake City commission commis-sion by Joseph L. Sloan, city parks superintendent Mr. Sloan listed operating expenses ex-penses for the year at $8783.50, while visitors totaled 663,708, reporting re-porting that attendance had nearly doubled since 1942. The aviary has 1197 specimens of mammals and birds, valued at $21,062. Among the aristocrats, as far as price goes, are two ostriches os-triches valued at $300 each; 13 specimens of hawks, vultures and eagles, with a total valuation of $1090; three specimens of cassowaries casso-waries and emus, valued at $850, and a pair of sea lions which are valued at $200. |
