Show GAMBLERS TO PAY I THEIR MONTHLY FINES Four men were arrested by the police last night on charges of gambling and keeping a gambling-house. They gave ! the names of George Coffin, Pat Kelly, John Long and Tom Brown. These names were borrowed for the occasion. Long and Coffin were charged with conducting a gambling-house, and deposited de-posited $100 each. Kelly and Brown were alleged to have attempted to make Dame Fortune give them a sunny smile, and for their Indiscretion deposited $25 each. If the methods of past gambling "raids" are followed, these men will either forfeit their ball, or will enter pleas of guilty and forfeit the amounts deposited. They will then be secure from arrest for another thirty days, and the city treasury will have reaped the benefits. j |
