Perkins, Fourth cavalry, stationed at Fort Leavenworth, prominent In army and social circles, left the post last Tuesday Tues-day on four days' leave of absence and has not been heard of since. A woman by tho name of Mrs. Rayner, claiming to be his wife and mother of his two cnlldren, registered at a local hotel and made the statement that he has gone to get away from her, he having repeatealy tried to get a divorce from her, she always preventing pre-venting It. He often threatened to kill her, she claims. No foul play is suspected, suspect-ed, as the officer took a dress-suit case and clothes with him. Lieut. -Col. Wygant, commanding in Col. Miner's absence, said every effort would be made to bring the man to justice. |
