The director of the Ploche, Nevada Consolidated held the regular monthly meeting Tuesday night and It was discovered dis-covered that the company is out of debt and that It haa amply sufficient fund to do the necessary development work to make the property a mine if it will ever be one. Manager B. M. Cornish announced the plan which he will follow In the development of the property and It met with the complete Indorsement of the rest of the directors. He purposes to ship a carload of or at once and this will be on the road by the 10th. He will then cut a station at the 100-foot level In the new shaft and will do considerable prospecting at that depth. The main shaft will also be continued contin-ued on down but no drifting will be done on It until a considerable depth, probably 500 feet, has been reached. Of course if an ore body Is cut by the shaft It will be Investigated. i The result of the election did not seem to have any particular effect on the business dona on the Mining exchange ex-change Wednesday, although all the stocks which received attention showed a distinct advance in price, with one exception. The trend of the market was distinctly strong and higher, and the era of good business was not checked. , ' - Carisa was the big feature of the market mar-ket and that stock advanced beyond all expectations, opening strong at 19o and shooting up to 21c with comparatively heavy sale. The stock closed with 21c freely bid and 22c asked. Con. Mercur .was also strong and did a fine lot of business between 44 and 45c. Silver Shield also, advanced materially, starting start-ing at 14o and moving up rapidly. It closed with 14c bid and 1434c asked. New York continues on the downward path and fell to 12o on slow and listless sale. It was weak at the close. Daly West was In good demand at about the regulation prices, selling between til. 25 and 812.50. May Day was strong, with , the report of the new, strike, and moved up to 35c, but closed with S4c asked. WILL START NEW SHAFT AT LINCOLN MINE. George Z. Edwards, who recently accepted ac-cepted the position of superintendent of the Lincoln mine at Kennedy, Ida., is In the city for the purpose of purchasing a. compressor and a bunch of drills which will be operated by electric -power. He say that a permanent operating operat-ing shaft consisting of three compartments compart-ments will be started at once and will be run down 500 feet without a stop. Also a large amount of lumber Is now on the ground for surface improvements. improve-ments. The mill, which has a capacity of 125 ton, is now being run with only one shift and it will not be operated at full capacity until the new ahaft is . completed. WILL OPEN SHARP MINE. A. L. Jacobs, one of the principal owners of the Sharp mine at Stockton urgently advised the opening of that property, to his c-owners at the meeting meet-ing of the company held on Tuesday, and it was decided to go to work at once.
