Show WADDELL IS ARRAIGNED Henry Waddell, one of the State prisoners pris-oners who participated In the break for liberty In October last, this . morning pleaded not guilty to three informations informa-tions charging him with escaping from the State prison, grand larceny, and assault as-sault with a deadly weapon with? Intent to commit murder, before Judge Morse In the criminal division of the District court this morning. Waddell was brought down from the penitentiary by Acting Warden Wright and Guard Ure, handcuffed. He only smiled when the informations were being be-ing read to him and entered his plea clearly and unhesitatingly. The time of his trial has been set for March 14th. The first information read charged him with escaping from the State prison pris-on on October 9, 1903, when he was serving serv-ing a sentence of seven years for burglary, bur-glary, beginning on February 21. 1902, and a sentence of three years for assault as-sault with intent to commit murder, committed on the same date, when he made an assault upon Guard Frank C. Naylor with a revolver. |
