Show BIG BLAZE; LOSS $3000 Double House on West Side Burns at Midnight; Mid-night; Cause Unknown. A fire, the origin of which Is unknown, un-known, destroyed a double dwelling-house dwelling-house belonging to O. M. Bldwell, at the rear of 750 South West Temple street, about 12:30 o'clock last night. . At the time of the fire the house was unoccupied, but had only just been completely furnished for Mr. Bidwell's brother, who is coming from an Eastern East-ern city. The last of the furniture was taken into the house yesterday afternoon, and it is possible that a match carelessly dropped by some one may have started the fire. . The blaze had gained such 'a full headway when discovered that almost the entire rear portion of the house was destroyed. The fire department made a hard run, under difficulties, owing to the pavement being as slippery as glass, and the mud being hub deep in many places. About all the use that could be made of the water was to prevent the spread of the flames to nearby houses. The only things saved were some articles ar-ticles upon the front porch. The total loss is about $3000, with $1200 insurance. |
