Show ANNUAL MEETING OF . BAR ASSOCIATION ; The State Bar association held its annual an-nual meeting in the Federal courtroom . J Mynday night. The principal address of - uta evening was delivered by President Andrew- Howat. During the course of his address Mr. Howat saidr "The people do not respect the law; they do not respect the courts, and the courts do not respect themselves." Daly, Le Grand Toung, W. Van Cott. J. R. Letcher and A. T. Sanford were appointed to . arrange for the Sanaa! Sa-naa! banquet which will be given some time in .February. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President Parley L. Williams. Vice-presidents The Judge in each of the seven Judicial districts of the State. The Judge for the Third judicial district, which comprises Salt Lake Clty is Thomas Thom-as D. Lewis. (In some of the districts contests have been made, and until they are settled, the present Incumbents will be the respective vlce-preeldents). -.. .-"Secretary J. Walcott-Thompson. - Treasurer George L. Nye. Executive council Charles L. Baldwin, Allen T. Sanford. George H. Smith. H. H. Henderson and D. D. Houtz, the latter from Provo. Committee on grievances W. I. Snyder. Sny-der. J. H. Hurd and Grant H. Smith. The members of the Supreme court, including in-cluding Justice D. N. Straup, together with the Judicial district Judges, were sleeted honorary members. |
