Show OPPOSITION MOLLIFIED Real Estate Men Commend. Com-mend. Changes in the Water Proposition. A meeting of the Real Estate Men's association, to take action on the water wa-ter question, was held Saturday at noon. There were twenty-five members mem-bers present and the discussion was most fervid. J. L. Perkes introduced the following resolution as soon as the meeting was called to order: "Whereas, The objections heretofore presented to the voting of water bonds offered by this association have In their most important features been eliminated elimi-nated by the modifications secured from the farmers, therefore, be it "Resolved. That this association now withdraw its objections to the bonding proposition, commends those who have secured the modifications to the faulty contract and favor the Issue of bonds on the' amended terms proposed by the new contract and such further concessions conces-sions as may be secured hereafter." . This resolution was opposed strenuously, strenu-ously, and the following- substitute, which was proposed by Thomas Homer, Ho-mer, was passed by a vote of 14 to 10: "Resolved, That the Salt Lake Real Estate Men's association commends the action of the City Council in securing1 secur-ing1 the modifications in the contract between the city and the farmers of Big Cottonwood, and indorses the securing se-curing of further modifications In the interests of the city." |
