C president of the constitution grand lodge of the order of B'nal B'rith, arrived ar-rived here Tuesday night from Denver, accompanied by his wife. They were greeted by a reception committee comprising: com-prising: Henry Conn, William G, Wat-ters, Wat-ters, William Graupe and Jacob Morlts, appointed by Benjamin Franklin Pelt-otto Pelt-otto lodge. No. 421, of Salt Lake. Judge Wolf is making s tour of the country to strengthen the B'nal B'rith by Increasing its membership. He said: "It is my aim to stimulate the Interest : of the Jewish public in the work of the order, so that our people will Join more freely In relieving the congested condition condi-tion In the State of New York by distributing dis-tributing througrhoutu the country the emigrants who are coming here In consequence con-sequence of persecutions in other lands. "The order has distributed more than 20,000 Jews over the United States during'- the last three years. The alms of the order are educational, philanthropic and patriotic. - "The order maintains In Cleveland, O., an orphan asylum where 600 children are cared for, none of whom are orphans or-phans of members of the society. There are other orphanages, homes for the aged and Indigent and other institutions of similar character In various parts of the country." Judge Wolf delivered an address to Pelxotto lodge and Wednesday, after en- j Joying a drive through the city, he and hiP wife went to San Francisco. Judge Wolf is a thirty-third degree Mason. |
