Show TUG-OF-WAR HAY. : BE RBE.WED HERE The Pastime Athbstlc club of New York is doing much to revive the tug-, of -war which tag been practically obsolete obso-lete for many years. The sport seems to be attracting; much- attention and aevera! international team will compete com-pete during the winter at the varloua indoor meets around New York. In the old days when the Tunnel was a well-known resort on Second: South street the tug-of-war excited much interest in-terest In this city, and it is possible that the sport may b revived here. The rules under which It Is held provide for four men. and an anchor for each team, the competition to be pulled on cleats of wood, at least four Inches thick, six Inches high and twenty-Jwo Inches long ad at least six feet six inches apart. ., v |
