Show WABASH HITS TOBOGGAN; ; GALENA SELLS UPWARD Trading on the open board in Wabash today was little short of sensational. The stock wu hammered from 41 to S5 centa In tha course of a few sales, and whole blocks of it went at low figures. In ail 4900 shares were sold after the decline de-cline waa started. Galena was the feature among the rising stocks, going as high aa 22 cents, which is an advance of 8 cents in two days. New York sold Arm above the 25-cent mark, 1000 going at 28 cents, 4000 at 25 centa and 600 at 2Z cents. . Grand Central was unable to maintain its yesterday quotation and sold 300 at 35.25. Daly remained almost stationary with little trading- Nalldriver fell from 32.75 to 32.67, but regained the 32.60 figure on the last sale. Thompson recorded another small advance, 800 shares going at 43V4 cents. Daly West sold aa low as 339.30 in spite of the favorable report made at the annual an-nual meeting yesterday. The committee appointed at the recent meeting of the Ttntlc ore-shippers met for the first time last night, and took the first steps 'for a vigorous campaign In securing a revision of the freight rates. Ore and bullion settlements yesterday yester-day amounted to $72,000. Manager J. J. Daly of the Daly-Judge left last night, for the coast. The May Day Company had thirty-two thirty-two tons of ore on the market yester-dsy, yester-dsy, which was sold on controls'approx-Imatlng controls'approx-Imatlng 38.5 per cent lead. 21.5 ounces silver and $2.80 gold per ton. Messrs. P. L. "Klmberly and F. Buhl and Manager Charles I. Rader of the Annie Laurie, spent yesterday Inspecting Inspect-ing 'the big tunnels at the Honerine. Manager A. F. Holden of the United States company has gone to California to be with his children, who are ill with the whooping cough. Manager C. E. Allen of the Centennial Eureka says that property will be equipped with an Independent light plant by next June. The entire workings, work-ings, both underground and on the surface, sur-face, will then be lighted by electricity. Manager Moats of the Four Metals company is in Nevada on mining business. busi-ness. A 5-cent assessment on Wabash becomes be-comes due next Saturday. This is said to be the cause of the slump in that property on the morning call. The Tonopah M'ner says J. W. Lang-ley Lang-ley and M. L. Effinger of Rait Lake have purchased from T. J. Breen and associates fifteen mining claims located near Ray, Nov., for a consideration of $50,000. JOHNNY MILL TREATS FORTY TONS DAILY Superintendent Bernson of the contracting con-tracting firm which built the Johnny mill at Stateline returned yesterday from that place, after turning the property prop-erty over to the owners, the week during dur-ing which the mill was to be run on trial having elapsed. A letter received by Treasurer W. J. Halloran from Manager Man-ager Dooly of the Johnny company says the mill proved entirely satisfactory during the week, and Is now treating forty tons of ore daily. The weather at Stateline has been unusually cold for the past few weeks, the mercury frequently fre-quently dropping to 10 below zero. DALY WEST EARNED $1,827,585 LAST YEAR The annual shareholders' meeting of the Daly West of Park City was held in Denver yesterday. The manager's report, re-port, which was submitted to the shareholders, share-holders, shows that an output of 65,363 tons of ore and concentrates was made during the year, for which was received $1,827,585.72, of which $1,044,000 was distributed dis-tributed In dividends. Notwithstanding this enormous dividend, divi-dend, the management has paid out about $100,000 for additional territory, settled all the claims except three resulting re-sulting from the mine explosion, and still has over $260,000 on hand. This showing, in spite of the fact that silver ruled at 10 cents an ounce lower than during the previous year, gives proof of the Daly West's marvelous producing produc-ing power. The voting for directors resulted in the re-election of the old board, as follows: fol-lows: J. E. Bamberger, J. D. Wood; W. S. McCornlck. Ezra Thompson and William Wil-liam H. Dickson. The efficient household house-hold will be organized at a meeting of the directors. The directors will meet in this city and elect officers, probably next week. |
