Show SIX INCHES SNOWFALL Storm Promises to Be a Record-Breaker Before nightfall. The snowstorm now raging In Salt Lake promises to be the heaviest ever recorded in this city. An area of high pressure was central over this section of the country early this morning, but the pressure fell rapidly, and at 10:80 large flakes of snow commenced to fall thick and fast. By 1 o'clpck Six Inches had been recorded, and the pressure was still falling, and there were no Indications Indi-cations that the storm was abating. If it continues to snow for two hours as hard as it did this morning, all records will be broken for this city." The heaviest snowstorm prior to this was on the 8th and 9th of February, 1899, when 11 inches fell in twenty-four hours. The street cars are all running behind time on account of the heavy snow. |
