Show FREIGHT TRAIN CAUGHT BY HUGE SNOWSLIDE. Every Member of Crew Injured, and Two of Them May Die. MISSOULA. Mont., Feb. 11. A tremendous tremen-dous snowslide occurred yesterday at the "S" bridge on the Coeur d'Alene, between Mullan and Dorsey. on. the Northern Pacific Pa-cific ra(Iroad, destroying seven bents of the long trestle work and 'sweeping a freight into the gulch many feet below. Every member of the freight crew was more or less injured, two of whom may die-. The freight and a passenger train left tVallace preceded by a rotary snowploush. The rotary broke down in a huge drift. The two trains in the rear then attempted attempt-ed to return to Wallace. When the passenger pas-senger left "S" bridge it encountered the slide and was stalled ahead. The freight came to a stop on the end of the bridge and a moment later was swept away by the slide. It is impossible to reach the injured men because of the deep snow, and anothfr rotary will be sent out Immediately Im-mediately from Livingston. |
