Lake Bailroad eompany yesterday afternoon, the following were ehosen members of the board of directors: Senator W.-A- Clark of Batte, Mont.; E. H. Harriman, New York; - B. C. Kerens, St.' Louis; W. D. Cornish, New lork; Thomas Kearns, Salt Lake; W. H. Bancroft, Salt Lake: J. Boss Clark, W. H. Comstock, T. F. Miller, H. I. Bettis, W. G. Kerckoff and W. B. Kelly, Los ABgeles. . . ..... The directors will meet in the nejr future and elect officers for the ensuing ensu-ing year. It is not expected any material mate-rial ehanges will be made. The present officers are: President, W. A. Clark; first vice-president, W. H. Bancroft? second vice-president, J. Boss Clark; general manager. B. E. Wells; auditor, H. I. Bettis. . ' Only one change was made in the list of - directors yesterday. - Judge W. B. Kelly, former general counsel for the Union Pacific, was recently appointed general counsel for the Salt Lake Bonte to suc.ee ed T. E. Gibbon. Boss Clark-said Clark-said that the tracks of the Tonopah & Las Vegas road would be in Bhyolite in a few days. Grading is nog going on on the extension from Bhyolite to Gold-field Gold-field with Deal Brothers k Mendenhall in charge of the work. . " Work has not yet , been authorized on the Deep Creek branch. - Abont half the rails have been . unloaded un-loaded at Caliente. for. the Pioche branch, and enough ties and rails will f e on hand within the next sixty days o cover the line." The eompany suffered from several serious washouts in the Meadow Valley wash last winter, en account of an unusually un-usually heavy fall of snow and rain. 8o thorough is the' system of track improvements im-provements being inaugurated to guard against all such occurrences in the future fu-ture that such disasters are very unlikely un-likely to occur again soon. |
