Powers, Democratic nominee nom-inee for Congress, will break into the campaign by an address next Friday evening at Federation of Labor hall. James H. Moylo and Ashby Snow will also be among the -speakers. A meeting of the Woman 's Auxiliary to the American party was held this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Thomas Watkins, 585 First street. The meeting meet-ing was called to order at 3 o 'clock. On the three registration days already had in Salt Lake City 2270 names havo been added to the list of voters for the election. Already the politicians are beginning to juggle with these figures1 and "supposing" "Now if," and "Making it only half.'. The Republicans Repub-licans were out yesterday searching for stray voters and running them toward to-ward the place of registration. During yesterday 1600 names were odded to the polling lists and the Republicans declare that tbey secured in the neighborhood of 900 of the votes. . ' The Democrats declare that they are reserving their strength for the final wind-up, when carriages of all sorts will be pressed into service. The last day of registration is October 30 and the grand finale is expected to develop some warm hustling. The Young Men 's Republican elub, about which some of the sad happenings happen-ings of Republican party affairs have taken place, will hold a - smoker at 8 o'clock Saturday evening at the Republican Re-publican headquarters in the Atlas block. The list of speakers has not been announced yet. . An enthusiastic rally . of Americans was held at Bingham Junction last night. The meeting was held in Goff's ball and was largely attended. Among the speakers were Thomas Weir, American Amer-ican nominee for Coimress; A. J. Weber, We-ber, American nominee for County Attorney; At-torney; Tom Pitt, American nominee for Sheriff; S. B. Westerfield, American nominee for County Commissioner; George M. Sullivan and J. N. Spalding, American nominees for the Legislature; J. W. Burns, chairman of the precinct, presided. The. American drum corps and quartette furnished music. The Americans claim a majority at Bingham Junction at the coming election. The Democrats of Utah county will have a large "gab-fest" Monday even-ing even-ing at Provo. H. B. Cromar, J. H. Brittain and D. I. Elton spoke in the interests of the ticket and discussed at some length the eight-hour labor law. Messrs. Cromar, Elton and Brittain will speak at a rally to be held Thursday at Murray. Thursday morning Mrs. Metras and Mrs. G. Pitt leave for Brigham City, where they will endeavor to organize an American Woman's clnb. Mrs. Lee Chamberlin and Mrs. F. 8. Fox leave Friday afternoon for Brigham City and a meeting will be held at Carmine Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. All the women of the vicinity will be urged to attend the meeting. At the Democratic county convention conven-tion for Davis county, held yesterday at Farmington, a full county ticket was nominated, together with a Representative Representa-tive in the Legislature. The convention conven-tion is said to have been one of the most harmonious ever held in Davis county. ' The platform took occasion to hand the.
