Show MISS GATES GIVES FAREWELL CONCERT 2liss Emma Lncj Gates, Salt Lake's popular pop-ular aoprano, appeared la a lareweU concert at tha Tabernacle, last night, before coins abroad to stndy. She waa greeted by an audience au-dience of 5000 people, who faTe her enthusiastic enthu-siastic appreciation. The ieatnra of the progTam was 'La Tra-? Tra-? viata," which showed to advantage the range and sweetness of Min Gates' msrrlous - Toiee. The duet from "Rigoletto," in which ' Mi&a Catea was assisted by Horace Ensign, as baritone, waa also particnlarly effectire. Other selections were: 'Le Jardiaet," 'Pe-tronille, 'Pe-tronille, "The Cuckoo," "Oh. That We Two Were Maying" and "Lea Filles da Cadis," Ca-dis," which closed the program. Mr. Ensign appeared in two solas and Prof. McClellsn gave several plestiag organ selections. |
