Slate-making is actively in progress among the Smoothes for positions on the Republican county ticket. Arrangements were made for a strong . delegation to go to Murray next Thnrs- J day night to assist in the organization , of an auxiliary there. j An enthusiastic reception was held at American headquarters last night by the American Women's club. Mrs. Jo-V seph M. Cohen presided. The exercises were opened bv the singing of "The Star Spangled "Banner," by Miss Cor-inne Cor-inne Harris. Encouraging speeches were made by County Chairman J. E.
