Show OPFICER COATS DENIESJCHARGE Bingham Policeman Says He Did Not Black Carl Harmon's Eye. Policeman C D. t'oats of the town of Hfngh im Canyon declares that he did i.ot black Carl Harmon's eye last August, Au-gust, and for which Harmon is MJinp for $5000 damages. In an answer filed in the District court, Coats denies each and every allegation made by Harmon. As a fun her defense. Coals asserts that on the night of August 23, 1905, he found Harmon in front of the Pepper saloon in Bingham Canyon, in an attitude atti-tude uncomplimentary and not tolerated toler-ated by the ordinances of the town. When Coats attempted to arrest Harmon Har-mon for his conduct, he declares, the man stoutly resisted. It is averred that force had to be used, and in the strtiffjrle that followed he struck Harmon in the mouth with his tit. The policeman declares that he was compelled to use his fists in compelling Harmon to go to the town jail. |
