Second-class, (3.U per hundred. Third-class. $3.41 per hundred. ' .Fourth-class, $3.25 per hundred. With minimum rate of 60 cents (rail- . road classification). The committee further guarantee to Mr. Marsh a bonus or forwarding charge rate of first-class, $2.00 per ton; second-class. $1.&0 per ton; third-class, $1.25 per ton; fourth-class, $1.00 per ton. At present the congested freight con dltlon at Reno and at various points along the Southern Pacific makes the need of a freight line into Ooldfleld Imperative, Im-perative, for until the completion of the new line from Reno to the camp It will be Impossible to push ahead with the Improvements the camp demand. i From San Francisco to Goldfield the rate Is such that it could hardly enter Into competition wth Salt Lake for the business of the camp, thus leaving Salt Lake to make a bid for supplying the camp,' which should prove advantageous advan-tageous to both cities. As soon as the . contract had been signed the various Jobbers of the city began to. make arrangements for the Invasion of the camp by their salesmen, several leaving for the gold camp this morning. - ' The committee has been assured by the officials of the San Pedro line that they will assist the undertaking In every way that will contribute to the success of the enterprise. |
