Show OFFICER RESIGNS WHILE ON TRIAL WASHINGTON, March 1-Capt. George W. Kirkman, Twenty-fifth Infantry, who Is being tried by court-martial at Fort Niobrara. Nebraska, on charges of scandalous scan-dalous 'conduct to the prejudice of good order snd military discipline, hss tendered ten-dered his resignation as sn officer of the army and the question of Its acceptance la under consideration by the President and the Secretary of War. The court engaged In the trial of Cant. Kirkman has taken a recess until May 10, in order to await the receipt of certain cer-tain evidence from the Philippines. In the meantime additional charges of a serious character have been preferred against Cant. Kirkman, and it la said to be unlikely that he will be allowed to quit the service without punishment. |
