Laffan, editor and publisher of the New York Sun,' arid Mrs. Laifan, who have been In Salt Lake seversl day a, will leave tomorrow morning for California Califor-nia over the Salt Lake Route. Mr. Laffan met General Manager Wells and Vice-President J. Ross Clark of the road this morning, and was in consultation consulta-tion with them for some time before announcing an-nouncing that ha would go to Los An- geica. There has been much speculation regarding re-garding the visit of the New York publisher pub-lisher to Salt Lake, several people affirming affirm-ing that he was here for the purpose of either buying one of the local papers or furnishing his press report to one. Mr. Laffan refused to discuss these rumors, merely laughing at them. "This le Just a vacation for my wife and me," he said. "We are going to California Cal-ifornia and from there will return to New York, aaillng for Europe April 20. I have no business to transact." . |
